Not a Resource

I’ve written off suitor #1, as the positions they want me to consider are no longer with their little start-up that I’d liked so much. For the right job I’m willing to go just about anywhere but for more of the same I’m not interested in relocating anywhere not on my list.

Suitor #2 scheduled a follow-up for last week, but they’d neglected to tell me in advance that it was because they had lost the notes from our first conversation. Disproving the saying that you never get a second chance to make a first impression. This time they hit me with a bunch of lame trivia questions and classic interview BS but overall I think it went much better the second time around and I am much more interested in them than I was after our initial interview. Unfortunately, they just entered a “soft” hiring freeze period. I don’t know what the heck that really means but it sets off alarm bells in my head.

On the inside front, I was approached by the hiring manager for a position that I hadn’t previously considered. Looks like a good opportunity to pick up some new, marketable skills. Internal hiring tends to move pretty quick so I should know within a week or two.
